Reinsurance recoverable

Amounts due to a ceding insurer from a reinsurer for paid or unpaid losses and loss adjustment expenses. This represents the reinsurer's share of claims that the ceding insurer has already paid or expects to pay. Reinsurance recoverables are reported as assets on the ceding insurer's balance sheet.
