Outstanding premiums

The total amount of insurance premiums that are due from policyholders but have not yet been collected by the insurer. This figure represents a current asset on the insurer's balance sheet, reflecting the income it expects to receive for coverage already provided or in force. If premiums remain unpaid beyond the grace period specified in the policy, the coverage may be canceled for nonpayment.
