Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA)

A federal law that protects the job rights of individuals who voluntarily or involuntarily leave employment to undertake military service or certain types of service in the uniformed services. It provides reemployment rights and prohibits discrimination against past and present members of the uniformed services. Employers must reemploy individuals in the position they would have attained had they not been absent for military service, with certain exceptions.
