A civil wrong committed in the employment context that causes harm to an employee, for which the injured party can seek legal redress. These can include claims such as defamation, invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, or false imprisonment. Unlike workers' compensation claims, workplace torts often involve intentional acts by the employer or its agents.
