Address harvesting

The automated collection of electronic mail addresses from websites or online services without the owner's consent. This practice is often used by spammers to build mailing lists for unsolicited commercial email. Many jurisdictions have laws prohibiting or restricting address harvesting, such as the CAN-SPAM Act in the United States.
