Service by mail

The delivery of legal documents to a party or their attorney through the postal system. This method is a common and accepted form of service in many jurisdictions, often used after initial personal service or for subsequent filings. Rules for service by mail specify requirements such as certified mail with return receipt requested or ordinary first-class mail, and establish when service is deemed complete.
