Mail or telephone order rule

A regulation enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that protects consumers who order merchandise by mail, telephone, fax, or internet. This rule requires sellers to ship ordered goods within the advertised time frame or, if no time is specified, within 30 days. If delays occur, sellers must offer the buyer the option to cancel the order and receive a full refund.
