Service by fax

The delivery of legal documents to a party or their attorney via facsimile transmission. This method of service is permissible only when authorized by court rule, statute, or agreement between the parties. The sender must usually retain a transmission record as proof of successful delivery, and some jurisdictions require a follow-up mailing.
