Bailment

A legal relationship where one party, the bailor, delivers personal property to another party, the bailee, for a specific purpose, without transferring ownership. The bailee agrees to hold the property and either return it to the bailor or dispose of it as directed once the purpose is accomplished. This arrangement creates a duty of care on the part of the bailee.
