An individual or entity that acquires goods, services, or property in exchange for payment. In contract law, the buyer is a party to a sales agreement, obligated to accept and pay for the items purchased. The Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) governs many aspects of buyer-seller relationships in commercial transactions.
