Mercantile law

The body of law governing commercial transactions, business practices, and the rights and obligations of parties involved in trade and commerce. It encompasses areas such as contracts, sales of goods, negotiable instruments, secured transactions, and bankruptcy. In the United States, much of mercantile law is codified in the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).
