A small roll of finely cut tobacco wrapped in paper, designed for smoking. The manufacture, sale, advertising, and taxation of cigarettes are heavily regulated due to public health concerns. Federal laws, such as the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, grant the Food and Drug Administration authority over tobacco products.
