Concurring opinion

A written legal opinion by one or more judges in a court case that agrees with the majority's final decision but offers different reasons or emphasizes different legal principles. A judge may write a concurring opinion to clarify a point of law or to express reservations about the majority's reasoning. It does not alter the outcome of the case but can influence future legal interpretations.
