Consumer report

Any written, oral, or other communication of information by a consumer reporting agency bearing on a consumer's credit worthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living. This information is used to determine eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, or housing. The Fair Credit Reporting Act regulates the collection and use of consumer reports.
