Contempt of Congress

An act of obstructing the legislative process or showing disrespect for the authority of the United States Congress. This can involve refusing to testify or produce documents when subpoenaed by a congressional committee, or engaging in disorderly conduct during proceedings. Congress has the power to cite individuals for contempt and refer cases for prosecution.
