Contract for deed

An agreement for the sale of real property where the buyer makes payments directly to the seller over time, but the legal title to the property remains with the seller until the full purchase price is paid. The buyer receives equitable title and possession of the property during the payment period. This arrangement is also known as an installment land contract or land contract.
