Defective verdict

A jury verdict that is legally insufficient, inconsistent, or unclear, making it impossible for the court to enter a proper judgment. This can occur if the verdict fails to address all issues, is contradictory, or awards damages that are not supported by the evidence. A defective verdict may lead to a new trial or a remand for clarification.
