Judgment Non Obstante Veredicto, meaning 'judgment notwithstanding the verdict,' a motion made after a jury has returned a verdict. This motion asks the court to set aside the jury's verdict and enter judgment for the moving party, arguing that the verdict is not supported by the evidence or is contrary to law. It is now generally referred to as a renewed motion for judgment as a matter of law.
