Jingle rule

A historical bankruptcy rule that prioritized partnership creditors over individual creditors in the distribution of partnership assets, and individual creditors over partnership creditors in the distribution of individual assets. This rule was largely abolished by the Bankruptcy Reform Act of 1978. Modern bankruptcy law generally treats all creditors more equitably.
