Special verdict

A verdict in which the jury makes findings on specific factual questions rather than delivering a general verdict of guilty or not guilty, or liable or not liable. The court then applies the law to these factual findings to reach a final judgment. This type of verdict is often used in complex civil cases or when specific legal issues require detailed jury findings.
