Dependent relevant revocation

Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-001569

A legal doctrine in wills and estates law where a will or part of a will is revoked under a mistaken belief of fact or law, and the revocation is deemed ineffective if the testator would not have revoked it but for that mistaken belief. This doctrine prevents the testator's intent from being frustrated by an error. It is applied to restore the prior will or provision if the new disposition fails.
