Revocation of wills by instrument

The annulment of a previously executed will through a subsequent written document, such as a new will or a codicil. This later instrument must expressly state the intent to revoke the prior will or contain provisions that are inconsistent with the earlier will, thereby implicitly revoking it. The revoking instrument must be executed with the same formalities required for the creation of a valid will.
