Dodd-Frank: Title XIII - Pay It Back Act

Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-001719

The title of the Dodd-Frank Act that lowered the Treasury's maximum authority under the Troubled Asset Relief Program from $700 billion to $475 billion. It also directs money recovered from TARP investments toward reducing the federal deficit instead of funding new commitments. The program itself was created in 2008 by the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act, and this title only trimmed it.
