Economic duress

Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-001800

A defense to contract enforcement where one party is coerced into an agreement by an illegitimate threat that leaves them with no reasonable alternative but to accept. For a claim of economic duress to succeed, the threat must be wrongful and induce the victim's assent.
