Ejectment

A legal action brought by a party who claims to have title to real property against another party who is wrongfully in possession of that property. The purpose of an ejectment action is to recover possession of the land, along with any damages for its unlawful detention. This remedy is distinct from unlawful detainer, which typically addresses landlord-tenant disputes.
