Feres doctrine

A legal principle established by the U.S. Supreme Court that bars members of the armed forces from suing the federal government for injuries sustained during military service due to the negligence of other service members. This doctrine is an exception to the Federal Tort Claims Act. It applies when the injuries arise out of or are in the course of activity incident to service.
