Fixed annuity

A type of insurance contract that guarantees a fixed rate of return on the principal investment over a specified period. The insurer promises to pay a predetermined amount of income to the annuitant, either immediately or at a future date. This contrasts with variable annuities, where returns fluctuate based on underlying investment performance.
