The suitability of goods for a particular purpose, often implied in sales contracts. The Uniform Commercial Code includes an implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, meaning that if a seller knows the buyer's specific use for the goods and that the buyer is relying on the seller's skill or judgment, the goods must be fit for that purpose. This warranty applies unless disclaimed.
