Noncustodial parent

A parent who does not have primary physical custody of their child following a divorce, separation, or determination of parentage. This parent has legal rights to visitation or parenting time as specified in a court order or parenting plan. The noncustodial parent is also legally obligated to provide financial support for the child through regular child support payments made to the custodial parent.
