Noncountable resource

An asset that is excluded when determining an individual's eligibility for certain public assistance programs, such as Medicaid or Supplemental Security Income (SSI). These resources do not count towards the asset limits imposed by the programs. Examples often include a primary residence, one vehicle, and household goods, subject to specific program rules.
