Child support

Financial payments made by one parent to the other for the care and upbringing of their child following a divorce, separation, or in cases where parents were never married. These payments cover expenses such as food, clothing, shelter, education, and medical care. Child support obligations are established by court order or administrative process and are calculated based on state guidelines.
