Forum non conveniens

A legal doctrine allowing a court to decline to exercise its jurisdiction over a case, even if it has proper jurisdiction, because another court is a more appropriate and convenient forum for the litigation. This doctrine is invoked when the convenience of the parties and the interests of justice would be better served by transferring the case. Factors considered include the location of evidence, witnesses, and the parties' residences.
