Free appropriate public education

The right of children with disabilities to receive special education and related services designed to meet their unique needs at public expense. This education must be provided in conformity with an individualized education program (IEP). The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) guarantees this right to eligible students in the United States.
