Life-prolonging procedure

Any medical intervention, medication, or treatment that serves to extend a patient's life, even if it does not cure the underlying condition. This includes measures such as mechanical ventilation, artificial nutrition, and resuscitation efforts. Decisions regarding these procedures are frequently addressed in advance directives or living wills.
