Life-sustaining treatment

Medical procedures or interventions that maintain or prolong a patient's life when they are suffering from a severe illness or injury. These treatments do not cure the underlying condition but rather support vital bodily functions. Examples include respirators, dialysis, and feeding tubes, and decisions about them are often guided by patient wishes or legal proxies.
