Preregistration agreement

An agreement made between two people before they register a civil partnership, setting out how their property and finances will be divided if the partnership ends. It is the civil partnership counterpart of a prenuptial agreement. In England and Wales a court is not bound by it, but gives it substantial weight if both partners entered it freely and with full understanding.
