Reasonable speed

A rate of travel that is safe and appropriate given the prevailing road, weather, and traffic conditions, even if it is below the posted speed limit. This standard is often applied in traffic law to determine fault in accidents. Drivers are expected to adjust their speed to maintain control and avoid hazards.
