Res gestae witness

A person who observes or is involved in an event and whose statements made at the time of the event are considered part of the "res gestae." Their spontaneous declarations, made under the stress of excitement caused by the event, are often admissible in court as an exception to the hearsay rule. Such testimony is deemed reliable due to its contemporaneous nature.
