Self-proving will

A will that includes an affidavit signed by the testator and witnesses before a notary public, attesting to the proper execution of the will. This affidavit allows the will to be admitted to probate without requiring the testimony of the witnesses in court. Many states have adopted the Uniform Probate Code provisions for self-proving wills.
