Wills: attestation requirement

The legal mandate that a will must be signed by a specified number of witnesses in the presence of the testator and, often, in the presence of each other. This requirement serves to verify the testator's signature and mental capacity, and to prevent fraud or undue influence. Most jurisdictions require at least two competent witnesses.
