Willful tort

A civil wrong committed with the intent to cause harm or with a substantial certainty that harm will result from the action. Unlike negligent torts, which involve carelessness, willful torts require a deliberate act by the tortfeasor. Examples include battery, assault, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
