Shipment contract
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-004538
A type of sales contract where the seller's responsibility for goods ends once the goods are delivered to a carrier for transport to the buyer. Under a shipment contract, the risk of loss and title to the goods pass to the buyer at the time and place of shipment. This is contrasted with a destination contract, where risk and title pass only when the goods reach the buyer's specified location.
