A recorded series of sounds, such as music or speech, captured in a physical or digital medium, excluding the soundtrack of a film or other audiovisual work. Its copyright is separate from that of any musical composition recorded on it, and the owner's public performance right is limited to digital audio transmissions, with no general right over broadcast radio play.
