Special immigrant

A category of immigrant under U.S. immigration law that includes certain individuals who qualify for permanent residency based on specific circumstances, rather than through family or employment sponsorship. This category includes religious workers, certain foreign medical graduates, employees of international organizations, and juveniles declared dependent on a juvenile court. Eligibility criteria are defined in the Immigration and Nationality Act.
