Immediate relative

A category of family members under U.S. immigration law who are exempt from numerical visa limitations. This group includes spouses of U.S. citizens, unmarried children under 21 of U.S. citizens, and parents of U.S. citizens who are at least 21 years old. Immediate relatives generally have a faster path to obtaining immigrant visas compared to other family-sponsored categories.
