Immaterial

Relating to evidence or information that is not relevant or consequential to the issues in a legal case. An objection can be raised in court to the introduction of immaterial evidence on the grounds that it does not tend to prove or disprove any fact in dispute. In contract law, an immaterial breach is a minor failure to perform that does not defeat the core purpose of the contract and does not excuse the non-breaching party from their own obligations.
