Partial breach

A minor deviation from the terms of a contract that does not defeat the contract's main purpose. The non-breaching party may sue for damages caused by the partial breach but is still obligated to perform their own contractual duties. This type of breach is contrasted with a material breach, which significantly impairs the contract's value.
