Objection

A formal protest raised by an attorney during a trial or hearing to challenge the admissibility of evidence, the propriety of a question, or the conduct of opposing counsel. The purpose is to prevent improper information from being presented to the jury or considered by the judge. If sustained, the judge agrees with the objection; if overruled, the judge disagrees.
