Sprinkling trust

An irrevocable trust that grants the trustee discretionary power to distribute income and principal among a designated class of beneficiaries in unequal amounts. The trustee determines the timing and amount of distributions based on the individual needs, tax situations, or other circumstances of each beneficiary. This structure contrasts with a fixed trust, where the trust instrument specifies the exact share each beneficiary is to receive.
