Stockholder

An individual, company, or institution that owns at least one share of a company's stock, also known as a shareholder. This ownership grants certain rights, including the right to vote on corporate governance issues and receive a portion of the company's profits through dividends. Stockholders' liability for the company's debts is limited to the amount they have invested in the stock.
